Overnight stay and Morning jeep tour of Wadi Rum We meet you in Wadi Rum village about an hour and a half before sunset, and transfer to our camp, 11 kms south. At our camp you rest in your tent or explore our camp area, then relax in the big tent and watch the sun set over the red and white sands and distant mountains, and enjoy a cup of Bedouin tea. Dinner is served shortly after sunset, buffet style in the big tent, it includes freshly prepared vegetables, with chicken and bread or rice, cooked in a traditional way. On some evenings we will cook the food underground, a Bedouin barbecue, or zarb. When it gets dark we sit by the warmth of a fire and share stories and songs. Later we turn off the lights and you can lie back and gaze at the stars in the wide expanse of sky over the camp. When you are tired there is a comfortable bed waiting for you in your sleeping tent. Or, as an added option, you can sleep under the stars. A guide will take you by jeep to a place with no light pollution at all (except for the moon on some nights). We will provide mat and mattress and blanket for you, and you can sleep directly under the stars. In the morning you can watch the sun rise over the white desert, and we will return to the camp before breakfast. We serve breakfast about 7.30am and your jeep tour will begin about 9.00am. From our camp we set out south then east to visit Chicken Rock, and the soft sand dune. Then to the white desert to visit Um Frouth rock bridge where there is a short scramble to the top where you can stand on the arch, 15 metres above the desert floor. Next we visit the Little Arch, the second of the two rock bridges we visit on this tour. At the top of the red sand dunes you can walk a little further up the mountain for a great 360-degree panoramic view of the desert. If you want to try sand boarding on the sand dune, we provide a board at no extra charge. We continue on to Khazali Canyon where you will see ancient inscriptions on the cool shaded walls. The final stop is Lawrence Spring where you can follow the pipeline up the hill for a magnificent view, and enjoy a hospitality cup of tea when you return from your walk. From there it is a few minutes drive to Wadi Rum village, where we take you to the tourist car park, or to meet your taxi, for your onward travel. More details about our camp here.
