2 days Hiking in Um Sabatah area of Wadi Rum desert and 2 nights (in a tent at our camp)
Day1:
Your guide will meet you at the Wadi Rum Rest House in Wadi Rum village and from there we will start your hiking tour. From the village we will hike to Lawrence Spring, where you can scramble up the side of the mountain for a great view across the desert, and a hospitality cup of tea waiting for you when you descend. From there we hike across to the red sand dunes, and then to Khazali Canyon to see the water pools (in winter) and the rock art on the canyon walls. We will find a spot nearby Khazali to sit and eat lunch, and rest a while. In the afternoon we hike past the western side of Jebel Khazali and across the valley to the eastern face of Jebel Al Qatar. A short walk up the mountain (much less challenging than Lawrence Spring) there is cool spring, which has water all year round. See if you can spot where it is before you start the walk. From Qatar we turn south and hike across the sands to arrive at our camp. You can explore the camp area, walk up the mountain behind the camp to view the sunset, or relax with a cup of tea in the big dining tent and watch from there as the sun sets behind the distant mountains. Dinner is buffet style, it includes freshly prepared vegetables, with chicken and bread or rice, cooked in a traditional Bedouin way. On some evenings we will cook the food underground, a traditional Bedouin barbecue, or zarb. In the evening we will answer any questions you have about our Bedouin culture, we will tell you stories and songs about our life in the desert, and you can enjoy the star-filled night sky. When you are tired you can sleep in a comfortable bed in your tent. Or, as an added option, you can sleep under the stars. A guide will take you by jeep to a place with no light pollution at all (except for the moon). We will provide mat and mattress and blanket for you, and you can sleep directly under the stars. In the morning you can watch the sun rise over the white desert, and we will return to the camp before breakfast. Day 2: After breakfast we set off at 8.00am, hiking from the red desert into the white desert. We will visit canyons that not many visitors get the chance to see. We will show you a water dam and explain the water capture and storage methods in our desert. And we will go to a small arch and have our lunch nearby in the shade. In the afternoon we will cross back into the red desert and hike past the soft sand dunes to Cow Rock. And from there we hike back to our camp for a cold drink or cup of tea and a ringside view of the spectacular colours of the famous Um Sabatah sunsets. Again dinner will be served buffet-style and you can relax in our camp, see the stars, and enjoy the warmth of fire and conversation. Day 3: After breakfast we will return by jeep to Wadi Rum village by 8.30am, and the tour ends. Notes about the hiking tour:
There are about 7 hours of hiking each day, about half in the morning and half in the afternoon, with rests at each desert attraction we visit. A guide will accompany you on the hike, and another guide will go ahead by jeep to prepare lunch for you. Prices for our 2 days Hiking in Um Sabatah area of Wadi Rum desert and 2 nights at our camp

There is no booking fee, and we do not ask you to pay a deposit when you book with us. Full payment for your tour is payable in cash in JD (Jordanian dinar) at the end of your tour. For children 2 -12 years old, a 50% discount on tour price listed for 2 adults. |
