Welcome to Wadi Rum
Wadi Rum is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Come to Wadi Rum, and experience this spectacular natural treasure in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It is my pleasure to introduce you to the magnificence of the desert and the hospitality of the Bedouin people. My name is Salem Nasser Alzalabeah and I live in Wadi Rum village with my family. I was born and grew up in the desert, learning from my father and grandfather how to live in this place of summer heat and winter cold, of mountains and sand, granite and sandstone, wild herbs and camels. We grew to know every part of this vast environment. As a teenager I started work as a guide with my father and brothers, hiking with tour groups, helping at a camp, and saving to buy my first jeep. Sitting around the fire in the evenings we gradually learned English by listening to our visitors and answering their questions, until we became fluent - truly the school of Life. 
The beginning
In 2014 we started our own Bedouin guide business here in Wadi Rum, taking visitors out into the desert on jeep and hiking tours. We would show them the spectacular sights, and let our visitors experience the silence and vastness of our desert. 
Our "cave"
Later we built a small "cave", a low-walled enclosure in the shelter of a mountain in the Um Imgur area. We made a fireplace and that was it. Nothing else. A simple "5-billion star hotel". Hundreds of visitors from all around the world have come to Wadi Rum, toured the desert with us, sat around the fire in our cave, shared a cooked dinner, and slept directly under the stars. 
Our camp
In 2017 we decided to take on a new challenge that would provide more comfort and convenience for our guests. We started to build a permanent and beautiful desert camp with a large communal dining tent, a Bedouin tent for the fire in winter, private and comfortable sleeping tents, two bathrooms, and solar for electricity and hot water. We chose a quiet location, 11 kms south of Wadi Rum village, deep in the Wadi Rum Protected Area - it's a place that is famous for its spectacular sunset views. We opened in June 2018. Our commitment is to welcome our guests, and provide excellent service, great tours, delicious food, evenings around the fire and under the stars, and an unforgettable Wadi Rum desert experience.
